Body positivity

"Everyone deserves appreciation for embracing themselves". We believe.

Body positivity

Beauty and body image have objective aesthetic standards, one accepted collectively by the so called intelligent members of the community. Therefore, this ideal of beauty and perfect body undergoes several modifications as the borders and boundaries are crossed. On an average, a man is attracted to the woman identifying with his nationality and race, thereby contributing to idealised standards of beauty. The beauty standards are more subject to individual perceptions. Beauty is not the sole driver for sexual appeal, it is more of curiosity attached to male and female sexual organs and the whole idea of pleasure through sex, which ignites scoptophilia or sexual excitement at sight of sexual organs.

A negative body image can lead to lack of self esteem and consequent inability to be decisive in and out. One must keep in mind that ill self image ignites several psychological disorders like depression, anxiety and eating disorders. Beauty and its fallacious construct have led people to believe in its necessity for sexual appeal, but beauty is not the sole driver for sexual appeal, it is more of curiosity attached to male and female sexual organs and the whole idea of pleasure through sex. The inability to attain this sexual pleasure often makes an individual feel degraded about themselves.

Therefore, at Prasar we profess body positivity to ensure that self actualisation is achieved through complacence.
